Trick-or-Treat

Although she wanted to be an Oompa Loompa for Halloween, I was able to convince Lucy to wear my old kimono (Daddy brought it back from Japan for me when I was a little girl) and dress up as a Japanese Girl. She loved wearing the makeup and the kimono. After trick or treating she came home and passed the candy out at our house. Then, for several days following, the first thing out of her mouth in the morning was, "can I have a piece of candy?"

Pumpking Patch

On a chilly October Saturday we traveled with some friends to the other side of Lake Winnebago to the Little Farmer. We enjoyed looking at all the fall colors on our drive and since we were "so close" we had to go to the Road America race track. We were lucky enough to be there on a track day so we could see the cars going super fast! Then it was to the pumpkin patch for some fall activities and pumpkin picking.

Green Eggs and Ham

Our Halloween festivities have begun. We went to a Halloween party on Saturday dressed as Green Eggs and Ham (party theme was "green"). We had a lot of fun visiting, playing games, and eating. Brad and Lucy did a great job on our pumpkin. It had 3 sides and won second place in the pumpkin carving contest. Lucy was very excited to see her friend Johnny there too! She was one confused girl, trying to figure out who John (party host), John (Johnny's Dad), and Johnny (Ok, that one wasn't hard) were.

Quarry Quest 2010

I don't know if you can get any cuter than that! I love my Lucy! All year Lucy has been looking forward to going to "the big quarry." It is a special day for her and daddy filled with cool cranes, digging, dumping, and playing in the sand/dirt (one of her favorite things).

New Roof!

We have a new roof! Thanks Allstate. We hope (fingers crossed) that will take care of the leak in the master bedroom. They were able to get it all done in one day. Lucy and I had fun enjoying the nice weather watching them work and riding Lucy's scooter. I thought the nails were pretty cool, and Lucy was having fun with the leaves in the back yard. Here she is showing me some of her "leaf friends" This morning I went out to take a picture of the final project.

Cheesehead

I am thinking about Halloween costumes and was looking through old photos and found this. Lucy was a cheesehead for her first Halloween. I think she is pretty stinkin cute!

First Day of Preschool

Today was Lucy's first day of (real) Preschool. She was very excited and picked out her own clothes. She walked right in, put her lunch and backpack in her cubby, and started playing with the ponies. I was very excited too...I'm free! (well for 3 hours)

Snow Storm? or Blizzard?

Lucy and Lena playing quietly in a basement? There must be trouble...

Lucy and Lena emptied the styrofoam peanuts out of a huge bean bag chair, creating their own snow paradise...or blizzard. This picture doesn't do it justice. I think it was about 8 inches deep and took the girls and me probably and hour to clean it all up (with the additional help from Kathleen and her mom Bonnie in the end). Lucy was so excited to show me the snow in the basement. I couldn't be too mad, although she better not do it again.

Pipsqueak

Dear Blog, I'm finally getting around to updating you, but where do you begin when you have been absent for most of the year? For starters, Lucy is always doing funny/silly things. One day I went into her "house" (her play area behind the couch) and found this. Lucy put her hamster to sleep—ear plugs and all. When I disturbed him she said, "Mom, don't squeak him again—he's tired!" Sorry Pipsqueak, sorry Lucy, and sorry blog.
